Shut It, Will You?

Apr 11 2010 5 comments Uncategorized

You’ll feel that I am online right now but I am not. This is a scheduled post, to be honest. But promise, no more scheduled posts in the future – and this is because I shall be rather busy on April 11, Sunday. I’d probably have plenty of homework to do and lots of assessment books to do.

“Shut It, Will You?” is the topic of today because there are so many people who doesn’t want to shut ‘it’ and makes people irritated. The ‘it’ can be different things though. For example, “Shut your copycat brain, will you?” These are kind of ‘meant’ to be rude, and it is only for bad things.

Many websites has been closing and opening, closing and opening, that you cannot keep track your affiliates. Some of your affiliates do not even send you a message when they are leaving the blog world or something – while some of them will send a message, to make you say, “Oh I’m sorry that you are leaving…” Sorry, I’m not an easy prey on that trick. Can you shut your cunning brain?

NOTE: I will try my best to update this post on the real day – either before or after it has been posted automatically. Sorry!

Ah yes, we always get people who leave the internet without telling the affiliates. But I suppose we have to look at it through different lenses. Some people had no way of contacting their affiliates because they either had to leave the Net abruptly so they don’t have the time to tell the affiliates or (I hope this will not happen) the owner of the website suddenly passes away. He/she won’t have the chance, let alone time, to inform the affiliates.

It’s okay to do scheduled posts, not everyone can make posts on the spot. So no worries about that. :)

I totally know what you mean about the random leaving of affiliates, Dorine. I recently had to remove two because they just completely disappeared off the face of the Internet. It’s kind of annoying and depressing at the same time … :\

As for scheduled posts, don’t worry about it at all! (: The fact that you’re posting at all satisfies many visitors. :]

I guess people leave their websites because they’re stressed out. I don’t really have affiliates anymore and I don’t update my links page as it is, so it doesn’t bother me.

I know lately a lot of people have been moving or closing completely, which is fine. Some people just leave and come back again which is annoying.

What is more annoying is when you aren’t notified and you’re left wondering about them. Surely they could at least let you know or make a public announcement. Some people don’t even update their sites. I understand if you’re going to hospital or something… but they should at least somehow let others know.

Sometimes they do that because of emergencies…Like when there was flooding over here last year.

I don’t really care when people close their sites, but it does annoy me when they “start over” so many times that they don’t even bother to announce that they’re closing their sites when it’s time to “stop.”

You know, sis, I fully understand you. Seeing people you know and love disappear like ghosts hurts, and I don’t honestly believe that online friendships are less friendships than real life ones. There’s a beating heart behind every computer screen, and you and I know that well, lil’ sis. I hope your good friends will stay sincere with you and at least warn you when they’re closing sites. There are still emails to keep in touch. :)

Take care sis. Love you!
